Description

IC 405 is an emission and reflection nebula in Auriga. It has two distinct regions. The blue color comes from carbon rich dust that reflects the light from the blue star AE Auriga. The red regions are due to the highly energetic light generated by AE Auriga causing the gas in the nebula to emit red light.

I was able to image IC 405 however at this time of year Auriga is already past the meridian so I was limited to about 4 hours of imaging.
